José Manuel González Gómez, “El Metra” was a companion of the group who, because a tragic accident, died in north face of Teide.

In his honour, Añaza Mountaineer Union, organizes every year, the following weekend to 6 of January, an excursion of two days for Anaga range, a zone he liked a lot.

It’s a hard excursion, aproximatly 38 kms, and strong unevennesses. Tradition says members stop at bars to eat, to have a rest, and drink in our companion memory.

It´s starts from La Punta del Hidalgo, and along Taborno, it gets to Afur to eat.

You continue going down to Taganana, to follow to Benijo, where we have dinner, and then you continue to Las Palmas de Anaga, throwing to El Draguillo, to sleep there. Next day, bordering the coast, you go in front Los Roques de Anaga and El Faro, going down to Roque Bermejo and going up then, to eat in Chamorga. At last, you go up to Túnel de la Cumbrilla and go down to Igueste de San Andrés by Las Casillas, where it finishes this beautiful trip.
